III: From the Delta will introduce the folk melodies from the Song Hong
(Red River) Delta – home of Vietnamese culture and civilisation.
Hai Duong, a province in the heart of the Hong (Red) River Delta, is a
famous tourist destination for water puppetry, a unique and traditional
artistic display in Viet Nam.
The Red River Delta region attracted 35 million tourists this year, a 15
per cent increase over last year while bringing in revenues of VND35
trillion (US$1.66 billion), up 16 per cent year-on-year.
Hundreds of traditional craft villages in Ha Noi and provinces around
the Song Hong (Red River) Delta region will showcase their sophisticated
products at a festival in the capital city next month.
Amateur and professional photographers are being
given the chance to show their photos of the Hong (Red) River Delta at a
photo contest launched by the culture ministry''s Department of Fine
Arts, Photography and Exhibitions, it was announced in the capital
yesterday.
A range of exciting periods in Vietnamese history
are reflected in a new exhibition of antiquities at Nam Dinh Museum,
under the theme of Quintessence of Antiquities in the Red River Delta.
